Sumit Antil won gold medal in Tokyo Paralympics

Sumit Antil has won the gold medal in the javelin throw throw class F-64 category at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020.
Sumit Antil of Haryana created a new world record in the final with a throw of 68.55m.
Earlier Avani Lekhara won a gold medal in the women’s 10m Air Rifle SH1 event.

Maharashtra government launched “Mission Vatsalya” campaign for women

Recently Maharashtra government has launched “Mission Vatsalya” campaign for women.
This campaign has been started to help women who lost their husbands to COVID-19.
Under ‘Mission Vatsalya’, many services and about 18 benefits will be provided to women under one roof.
These women will get benefit from ‘Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana’ and ‘Gharkul Yojana’.

Recently India’s first ‘Quantum Computer Simulator Toolkit‘ named ‘QSim’ has been launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
It has been developed indigenously by scientists from IIT Roorkee, C-DAC and IISc Bangalore.

This toolkit helps in learning and understanding the practical aspects of programming.

9 judges took oath together for the first time in the Supreme Court

This is the first time in the history of the Supreme Court that 9 judges (03 women judges) have taken oath together.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana administered the oath to all the judges.
Justice BV Nagarathna, Justice Bela M Trivedi and Justice Hima Kohli are among the three women judges.
With this, the total number of judges in the Supreme Court, including the Chief Justice, has gone up to 33, while the sanctioned strength is 34.
These include 04 women judges.

2.Justice Vikram NathLikely to become CJI in February 2027.
Justice Vikram Nath was the Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court.

The 98 meter vessel has been built by Larsen & Toubro Shipbuilding Limited.

Recently, the world’s tallest cinema hall has been opened in the Paldan area of Leh, the capital of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The height of this cinema hall is 11,562 feet.
It has been set up by a company named Picturetime Digiplex Pvt Ltd.
Recently, the Border Roads Organization (BRO) has prepared the world’s highest road at an altitude of 19,300 feet at the Umling-La Pass in eastern Ladakh.

Government of India launches “Bharat Series” registration for vehicles

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has launched “Bharat series” for vehicle registration.
Under this series, if the employees move to another state, then they will not need to re-register their vehicle.
Vehicles having BH series number plate will have an All India Permit.
Earlier, to use the vehicle in a state other than the state registered under section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the vehicle has to be re-registered within 12 months.
At present, defense personnel, employees of Central and State Governments, employees of PSUs and employees of private companies (whose offices are in four or more states) can apply for “BH-Series”.
The registration of vehicles under the Bharat series (BH-series) will start from 15 September 2021.

Mariyappan Thangavelu won silver and Sharad Kumar won bronze in the high jump T63 event at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020.
Mariyappan won the silver medal with a jump of 1.86m.
While Sharad Kumar won the bronze medal with a jump of 1.83m.
Mariyappan Thangavelu (2016 Rio Paralympic gold medalist – high jump) was India’s flag bearer at the Tokyo Paralympics.
But due to being Kovid positive, Tekchand became the new flag bearer of India in his place.
