RBI imposes Rs 2 crore fine on RBL Bank

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a fine of Rs 2 crore on private sector bank Ratnakar Bank Limited (RBL) for violating the provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
Apart from this, RBI has imposed a fine of Rs 11 lakh on Jammu and Kashmir State Co-operative Bank Limited, Srinagar.

Union Minister launched the 7th edition of ‘Swachh Survekshan-2022’

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has launched the 7th edition of the cleanliness survey ‘Swachh Survekshan 2022’ on 28 September.
This year the survey will create a level playing field for smaller cities by introducing two categories of population below 15,000 and between 15,000 and 25,000.
This year the scope of the survey has been increased to cover 100% of the wards.
In previous years it was 40%.

‘Mid Day Meal Scheme’ renamed as ‘PM Nutrition Scheme’

The Union Cabinet has renamed the scheme “Mid-day Meal Scheme (Mid-Day-Meal)” to provide food to children in government and aided schools as ‘PM Poshan Scheme.
PM Poshan Yojana has been started for 05 years from 2021-22 to 2025-26.
A total budget of Rs 1,30,795 lakh crore has been allocated for this scheme for 5 years.
The central government will spend Rs 54061.73 crore on this scheme.
While the state governments and union territories will spend Rs 31,733.17 crore.
Apart from this, the central government will bear an additional expenditure of about Rs 45,000 crore on food grains.

Objective: To provide nutritious food to the students of class I to class 8.

Recently, a Yemen-based humanitarian organization ‘Zil Albena Association for Humanitarian Development’ was awarded the Nansen Refugee Award for the year 2021 by UNHCR.
This award has been given to this humanitarian organization for providing a lifeline to thousands of people displaced by the conflict in Yemen.
