पूर्व सैनिक दिवस: 14 जनवरी
भारतीय सशस्त्र सेनाओं द्वारा वर्ष 2017 से प्रतिवर्ष 14 जनवरी को पूर्व सैनिकों के सम्मान में पूर्व सैनिक दिवस (वेटरन्स डे) मनाया जाता है। शुरुआत में इसे आर्मिस्टिस डे कहा जाता था। साल 2021 में 5 वां पूर्व सैनिक दिवस ,मनाया जा रहा है।
भारतीय सशस्त्र सेनाओं के पहले कमांडर-इन-चीफ फील्ड मार्शल के.एम. करियप्पा, के सेना में दिये गए अतुलनीय योगदान की याद में यह दिवस मनाया जाता है। फील्ड मार्शल करियप्पा वर्ष 1953 में इसी दिन सेवानिवृत्त हुए थे। इस दिवस पर हमारे बहादुर सेना नायकों और पूर्व सैनिकों की राष्ट्र के प्रति निस्वार्थ सेवा और बलिदान के सम्मान में तथा उनके परिजनों के प्रति एकजुटता प्रदर्शित करने हेतु देश के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में पूर्व सैनिकों के लिये सम्मिलन कार्यक्रम (वेटरन्स मीट्स) आयोजित किये जाते हैं। वर्ष 1899 में कर्नाटक में जन्मे फील्ड मार्शल के.एम. करियप्पा को स्वतंत्र भारत के पहले सेना प्रमुख के रूप में जाना जाता है। द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के दौरान जापान के विरुद्ध बर्मा (वर्तमान म्याँमार) में उनकी महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका के लिये उन्हें प्रतिष्ठित ‘ऑर्डर ऑफ ब्रिटिश एम्पायर’ (OBE) से भी सम्मानित किया गया था। 15 जनवरी, 1949 को के.एम. करियप्पा को भारतीय सेना का पहला कमांडर-इन-चीफ बनाया गया था। उन्हें फील्ड मार्शल की फाइव-स्टार रैंक भी दी गई थी, जो कि भारतीय सेना का सर्वोच्च सम्मान है और इसे अब तक दो ही लोग प्राप्त कर सके हैं, पहले फील्ड मार्शल के.एम. करियप्पा और दूसरे फील्ड मार्शल सैम मानेकशॉ।
Veterans Day is celebrated by the Indian Armed Forces from January 2017 to January 14 every year in honor of ex-servicemen. In the beginning it was called Armistice Day. The 5th Ex-Servicemen Day is being celebrated in the year 2021.
Field Marshal K.M., the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces. This day is celebrated to commemorate the incomparable contribution made by the army of Kariyappa. Field Marshal Kariappa retired on this day in the year 1953. On this day, Veterans Meets are organized for ex-servicemen in various regions of the country in honor of our brave army heroes and ex-servicemen for their selfless service and sacrifice to the nation and to show solidarity with their families. Born in the year 1899 in Karnataka, Field Marshal K.M. Kariyappa is regarded as the first army chief of independent India. He was also awarded the prestigious 'Order of British Empire' (OBE) for his significant role in Burma (present-day Myanmar) against Japan during World War II. On 15 January 1949, K.M. Cariappa was made the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. He was also awarded the Five-Star rank of Field Marshal, the highest honor of the Indian Army and has so far received only two people, the first being Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa and second field marshal Sam Manekshaw.

केंद्र सरकार ने ऐलान किया है कि 16 जनवरी से कोरोना का वैक्सीनेशन शुरू होगा. अब केंद्र की तरफ से TRAI के पू्र्व प्रमुख आरएस शर्मा को कोरोना वैक्सीन को लेकर बनी कमेटी का चेयरमैन नियुक्त किया है. ये कमेटी देशभर में वैक्सीन के पूरे कामकाज पर नजर रखेगी. इस कमेटी का नाम empowered committee for administration of Covid-19 vaccine है
The central government has announced that the vaccination of Corona will begin from January 16. Now on behalf of the Center, the former head of TRAI RS Sharma has been appointed as the chairman of the committee on the corona vaccine. This committee will monitor the entire functioning of the vaccine across the country. The name of this committee is empowered committee for administration of Covid-19 vaccine.
सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता और पद्म श्री से सम्मानित डी प्रकाश राव का निधन
प्रख्यात सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता और पद्म श्री से सम्मानित डी प्रकाश राव का निधन। वह मूल रूप से कटक के एक चाय विक्रेता थे, उन्होंने 2000 में शुरू किए अपने स्कूल ‘Asha O Ashwasana’ कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से अपनी पूरी कमाई झुग्गी-गरीब तबके के बच्चों को शिक्षित करने के लिए खर्च कर की दी थी। उन्हें कटक में झुग्गी-गरीब तबके के बच्चों में शिक्षा के महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए साल 2019 में प्रतिष्ठित पद्म श्री पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था। इसके अलावा, राव एक जाने-माने रक्तदाता (blood donor) भी थे।
Renowned social worker and Padma Shri awardee D. Prakash Rao passed away. Originally a tea seller from Cuttack, he spent his entire income to educate the children of slum-poor sections through his school 'Asha O Ashwasana' program started in 2000. He was conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri Award in the year 2019 to raise awareness about the importance of education among slum-poor children in Cuttack. Apart from this, Rao was also a well-known blood donor.

डॉ पिनाकी दता को मिला सुभाष मुखर्जी मेमोरियल पुरस्कार 2020
पीजीआई इंडोक्राइनोलॉजिस्ट विभाग के प्रोफेसर पिनाकी दत्ता को इंडोक्राइन सोसाइटी ऑफ इंडिया ने डॉ. सुभाष मुखर्जी मेमोरियल पुरस्कार 2020 से नवाजा है। डॉ. पिनाकी को यह सम्मान इंडोक्राइनोलॉजी के क्षेत्र में उनके महत्वपूर्ण योगदान के लिए दिया गया है। पीजीआई से यह सम्मान पाने वाले पिनाकी दत्ता दूसरे डॉक्टर हैं। इससे पहले विभाग के पूर्व प्रमुख प्रो. आरजे डैश को यह विशिष्ट सम्मान प्राप्त हो चुका है। डा. दत्ता के राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय पत्रिकाओं में 250 से अधिक प्रकाशन हैं। इससे पहले इन्हें यंग इंवेस्टिगेटर अवॉर्ड 2005, पिट्यूटरी कांग्रेस सैन दाईगो और डीएसपी-यूकेआईईआरआई अवार्ड 2014 भी मिल चुका है। उन्हें बर्मिंघम के क्वीन एलिजाबेथ अस्पताल में शॉर्ट टर्म ऑब्जर्वरशिप भी प्राप्त हो चुकी है।
Chandigarh Professor Pinaki Dutta of PGI Endocrinologist Department has been conferred with Dr. Subhash Mukherjee Memorial Award 2020 by the Endocrine Society of India. Dr. Pinaki has been given this honor for his significant contribution in the field of Endocrinology. Pinaki Dutta is the second doctor to receive this award from PGI. Earlier, the former head of the department Prof. RJ Dash has received this distinction. Dr. Dutta has more than 250 publications in national and international journals. He has previously received Young Investigator Award 2005, Pituitary Congress San Daigo and DSP-UKIERI Award 2014. He has also received a Short Term Observance at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

He will take charge of the important summit 'COP26' as its former chairman was removed recently due to controversies.

The French government organized the fourth 'One Planet Summit' through video conferencing, aimed at protecting the world's biodiversity. The summit was organized in collaboration with the United Nations and the World Bank. The theme of the summit was "improved act together for nature!"
अमेरिका ने क्यूबा को आतंकवाद के प्रायोजक देश के रूप में नामित किया

The United States has re-designated Cuba as a 'State Sponsor for Terrorism' on 11 January 2021 to provide Cuba a safe place for terrorism, as well as frequent support for international terrorism incidents. Along with Cuba, only three other countries have been included in the list of state sponsors of terrorism – Iran, North Korea and Syria.

नई विदेश व्यापार नीति एक अप्रैल 2021 से लागू होगी
नई विदेश व्यापार नीति 2021-26 के बारे में नई दिल्ली में वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्रालय की संसदीय सलाहकार समिति की बैठक में विचार किया गया। बैठक की अध्यक्षता वाणिज्य और उद्योग राज्य मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने की। संसद सदस्यों और मंत्रालय के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने बैठक में हिस्सा लिया।
बैठक के दौरान बताया गया कि नई विदेश व्यापार नीति एक अप्रैल 2021 से पांच वर्ष के लिए लागू होगी। नई नीति का लक्ष्य भारत को 50 खरब डॉलर की अर्थव्यवस्था बनाने के लिए व्यापार और सेवाएं के निर्यात में समन्वय के जरिये अंतरराष्ट्रीय जगत में देश को शीर्ष स्थान पर पहुंचाना है।
वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में कहा कि बैठक में बताया गया कि जिला निर्यात केन्द्रों की स्थापना नई विदेश व्यापार नीति का एक महत्वपूर्ण घटक होगा। बयान में कहा गया कि नई विदेश व्यापार नीति सभी हितधारकों के साथ बैठकों के बाद तैयार की जा रही है। दिसम्बर 2020 में व्यापार बोर्ड की बैठक आयोजित की गई जिसमें राज्य सरकारों और अन्य हितधारकों से जानकारी प्राप्त की गई।
The new Foreign Trade Policy 2021-26 was considered in a meeting of the Parliamentary Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry. Members of Parliament and senior officials of the Ministry attended the meeting.
It was informed during the meeting that the new foreign trade policy will come into force for five years from April 1, 2021. The new policy aims to make the country top in the international world through coordination in trade and export of services to make India a $ 50 trillion economy.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement that the meeting stated that the establishment of district export centers will be an important component of the new foreign trade policy. The statement said that the new foreign trade policy is being formulated after meetings with all stakeholders. A meeting of the Board of Trade was held in December 2020 in which information was received from the State Governments and other stakeholders.
