On the death anniversary of Indian journalist Gauri Lankesh, it has been announced to celebrate ‘Gauri Lankesh Day’ on 05 September in the Canadian city of Barnaby.
Gauri Lankesh: Gauri Lankesh, a left-wing ideologue, had published a magazine “Gauri Lankesh Patrika”.
Gauri Lankesh was shot dead on 5 September 2017 in Bangalore.

India becomes first country in Asia to launch ‘Plastic Agreement’

The ‘Plastic Compromise’ platform was launched by Alexander Ellis, British High Commissioner to India, during the 16th Sustainability Summit organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on September 03, 2021.
With this, India has become the first country in Asia to launch the ‘Plastic Agreement’.
The platform has been developed by the World-wide Fund for Nature-India (WWF India) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Tamil Nadu State Government has announced to set up India’s first ‘Dugong Conservation Reserve’ in the Gulf of Mannar and Palk Bay region.
Dugong is also known as ‘Sea Cow’.
It is an endangered marine mammal.
Dugongs are found in the maritime zone of Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar.
