Iqbal Singh Lalpura became the new chairman of the National Commission for Minorities

Recently Iqbal Singh Lalpura has been appointed as the new chairman of National Commission for Minorities.
Prior to this, Gayurul Hasan Rizvi was the chairman of the National Commission for Minorities.
His term ended in May 2020.
Lalpura is the second Sikh to become the chairman of the commission after Tarlochan Singh in 2003.

Government of India has declared 06 religions Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Parsi and Jain as minority community.

World’s largest plant to absorb carbon dioxide from the air has been commissioned in Iceland

Recently, the world’s largest plant to absorb carbon dioxide from the air has started operation in the island country of Iceland located in the continent of Europe.
The plant has been named “Orca”, which means ‘energy’.
This plant can remove about 4,000 tons of CO2 out of the air every year.
This “Orca” plant is manufactured by ‘Clime Works’ of Switzerland and ‘Carbfix’ of Iceland.

China launches earth observation satellite “Gaofen-5 02”

Girish Murmu appointed as the new President of ASOSAI

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, Girish Murmu has been elected as the new Speaker in the Assembly of the Asian Association of Apex Auditing Institutions (ASOSAI).
