World Photography Day: 19 August

World Photography Day is celebrated every year on 19 August.
Joseph Nicephore and Louis Douger of France invented the ‘dogorotype’ process, a technique of photography, in 1839.
It is considered the world’s first photography process.
The invention was patented by the French government on August 19, 1839.
In this memory, ‘World Photography Day’ is celebrated on 19th August.
This day was celebrated for the first time in the year 2010.

Odisha becomes first state to provide smart health card

On the occasion of 75th year of independence, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced that under the ‘Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana’, 3.5 crore people in the state will be provided ‘smart health cards’.
Odisha has become the first state in India to provide ‘Smart Health Card’, according to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Under this scheme, women will be able to get treatment of Rs 10 lakh in a year.
Other family members can get treatment up to Rs 5 lakh.


“Dalit Bandhu Scheme” launched in Telangana

Amway India has appointed Mirabai Chanu, the silver medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, as its brand ambassador.
Mirabai Chanu won a silver medal in the women’s 49kg category in weightlifting at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Mirabai is the second woman from India to win a medal in weightlifting.
Earlier, Karnam Malleswari had won a bronze medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

RBI launched Financial Inclusion Index (FI Index)

The Financial Inclusion Index (FI Index) was recently released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
According to which the Financial Inclusion Index for the period ended March 2021 stood at 53.9.
Financial Inclusion Index for the period ended March 2017: 43.4

The index includes details of banking, insurance, investment, postal and pension sectors.
The Financial Inclusion Index (FI Index) is measured in a single value ranging from 0 to 100 where
0: Complete Financial Exclusion
100: Complete Financial Inclusion

The index consists of three parameters: access to financial services (35%), access to financial services (45%), and quality (20%).
FI Index has no base year.
It is published annually by RBI in July every year.
