Myanmar’s military chief Min Aung Hlaing appointed interim prime minister

Dictator Min Aung Hling, the military chief of Myanmar’s military, has announced himself as the country’s new interim prime minister.
It has also announced to extend the state of emergency for two years.
He has also announced to hold elections in Myanmar after August 202
3.
There was a military coup in Myanmar on 1 February 2021.
After which Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader of the National League for Democracy Party, was detained.
This is the third coup in Myanmar.
A coup is a situation when the army, paramilitary force or the opposition party themselves occupy power by removing the current government.

Neelakurinji flowers are found in the Shalom Hills of Idukki.

Boxer Lovlina Borgehen won bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics

Indian women’s boxer Lovlina Borgohain won a bronze medal in the 69 kg category at the Tokyo Olympics.
This is India’s third medal in Tokyo Olympics 2021.

Earlier Mirabai Chanu won silver in weightlifting and bronze medal in badminton by PV Sindhu.
With this, Assam’s Lovlina has become the third Indian boxer to win a medal in the Olympic boxing event.
Earlier, Vijender Singh won bronze medal in Beijing Olympics (2008) and MC Mary Kom won bronze medal in London Olympics (2012).


Italy’s Marshal Jacobs won the gold medal in the 100m event at the Tokyo Olympics

Haldibari-Chilahati rail line between India and Bangladesh has been restarted after 56 years.
The Haldibari-Chilhati rail service between the two countries was stopped after the Indo-Pakistani War, 1965.
