Himalaya Day: 09 September

Every year 09 September is celebrated all over India as Himalaya Day with an aim to create awareness about the conservation of Himalayan ecosystem.
On 9 September 2014, the day was officially announced by the then Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat.

President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the “President Color Award” to the Aviation Wing of the Indian Navy

The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind has conferred the “President’s Colour Award” to the Aviation Wing of the Indian Navy at a ceremonial parade held at the INS Hansa base near Panjim, the capital of Goa.
President’s Color Award established: 27 May 1951
This award is the highest honor given to any military unit of India.
For the first time on 27 May 1951 by the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
The Indian Navy was honored with this award.

Yoshihide Suga to resign as Prime Minister of Japan

Rajnish Kumar, former chairman of State Bank of India (SBI), has been appointed by the state government of Andhra Pradesh as its economic advisor.
Rajnish Kumar served as the chairman of SBI from the year 2017 to 2020
He currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director at the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.


Satish Parekh appointed as the new President of International Road Federation India (IRF)

Satish Parekh has been appointed as the new President of the Indian branch of the International Road Federation (IRF).
He will succeed Shubmay Gangopadhyay, a former director of the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), in this position.

Country’s tallest air purifier installed in Chandigarh

The country’s tallest air purifier has been installed in the Union Territory of Chandigarh at a height of 24 meters.
This air purifier can clean 388 million cubic feet of air around it.

Earlier, Delhi’s air purifier was the tallest in the country.

Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav launched Pran portal

The Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupendra Yadav has recently launched the ‘PRAN’ portal (Portal for Regulation of Air pollution in Non-Attainment cities – PRANA).
The portal will help disseminate information on air quality along with tracking the physical and financial status of the city’s air action plan implementation.
He also inaugurated a ‘Smog Tower’ in Delhi.

BCCI appointed Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the guide of Indian team for T20 World Cup 2021

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the guide of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2021.
Dhoni is the captain of the team ‘Chennai Super Kings’ in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India has won two World Cups: T20 World Cup (South Africa – 2007) and (ODI World Cup India – 2011).
Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on 15 August 2020.
